Quick Tip: Switch the Command and Control keys on your Mac

If you've worked on Windows machines your whole life like I have, switching to a Mac can be quite daunting. Besides relearning where everything is, you'll quickly notice, that the "Control" key on your Mac doesn't perform the same function as it does on your Windows machine. In fact the "Command" key actually performs all those functions. 

For example, if you want to copy and paste something, you would use: 

Command + C

Command + V

I've found that some people will just accept this, and learn how to use their thumbs for those types of operations. However, if you're like me, and you'd rather not reprogram your brain to use your thumb instead of your pinky, especially if you're still using a Windows machine on the side, then keep reading!

Its actually quite easy to "fix" this issue. 

1. Open up Settings

2. Select Keyboard

3. Press the Modifier Keys button in the bottom right

4. For the "Control" key option, select Command

5. For the "Command" key options select Control

6. Click the "OK" Button and exit out of the other windows. 

And thats it. Now you can feel free to flex your pinky like you're supposed to!
