NetAdventage 2012.1 and VS2008
posted

Hi, I just installe the trial version of jQuery (NetAdvantage_jQuery_20121.msi).  I am not able to install the samples installer, but in any case, how can I get a sample of using a igGrid? I am talking about getting a "complete VS project", not some parts of code. Also, is NetAdventage 2012.1 compatible with VS2008?

Thanks.

Regards,

Fernando

    Hi Fernando,

The problem you've encountered with the Samples Browser installation is most probably caused by the fact that  you might not have ASP.NET 3 installed.
If that's the case, you should get it from:  http://www.asp.net/mvc/mvc3

However, I'm afraid that the Samples Browser has been developed as a Visual Studio 2010 solution and I don't think Microsoft support backwards compatibility/conversion to Visual Studio 2008.

However (again), you can easily install an express version of Visual Studio 2010 so you can open and use the installed Samples Browser.

From what I know, ASP.NET MVC requires .NET Framework 3.5 with SP1 (or a higher version) and isn't tied to the version of Visual Studio so you will be able to use  our ASP.NET MVC controls while developing with Visual Studio 2008.

If you have any doubts or if you run into any issues, just let us know so we can help you out.
