How to replace v16.1 controls
posted

Hello forum,

my company modernized its hard- and software recently, and my good old v16.1 controls like UltraTree and UltraGrid are gone. I'll have to ask our IT to reinstall Ultimate UI for Windows Forms, but will v16.1 be available and usable under Windows 10 and Visual Studio 2017? If not, does the current version of Ultimate UI for WIndows Forms (v20) contain compatible controls? At first glance on the web site, v20 seems not to include UltraTree and UltraGrid, which my whole work depends on. Will a VS solution which uses those controls work under v20?

Thanks

Martin

    Hello,

Please keep in mind that according to our support policy Infragistics products have one year of product service releases and three years of developer support. This means that version 16.2 is considered retired and it is no longer eligible for Developer Support Services. More about Infragistics product lifecycle can be found here.

Having this in mind, it is possible to face some issues if you are using an environment or an operating system where our Products are not supported. For example, if you are using Visual Studio that is a newer version than the product's one this is to be expected because newer versions of Visual Studio are not backward compatible with our Coded UI Test Extensions from previous volumes. As each new Infragistics volume is released, we ensure that there is an assembly for the current version of Visual Studio at that time. Additional information about Infragistics supported environments can be found here.

The best suggestion is to upgrade to the latest version - 20.2. A list of all components could be found here and there could be found topics about UltraGrid and UltraTree.

Let me know if I may be of any further assistance.

    Sincerely,
