Framework migration from 2.0 to 4.8

Hi all,

I’ve migrated a Windows Forms proyect developed in Framework 2.0 to Framework 4.8. There’s no chance to keep framework 2.0 (or 3.5, that includes 2.0) anymore.

I can’t edit forms due to an error shown in the licenses.licx file. I’ve installed the old version of Infragistics that I’ve always used to (Version 6.1), but it dosn’t work.

I supose that I need a new version of Infragitics for Framework 4.8, but I’m not entirely sure.

Please, can anyone help me?

Thanks,

Jorge.-

    Hello Jorge,

If you have upgraded to version 4.8 of .NET Framework, it is unlikely that version 6.1 of Infragistics for Windows Forms will work, and so you will very likely need to upgrade the version of your Windows Forms toolset as well.

When performing a .NET upgrade, I would recommend taking a look at our Supported Environments page, as it details which Infragistics versions are compatible with which versions of .NET. You can find this page here: https://ko.infragistics.com/support/supported-environments.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns on this matter.

      Andrew,

thank you so much for your answer.

I’ve downloaded and installed version 22.1, but it’s still not working.

I can see the controls in the toolbox.

I added the references to new dlls, but the message about the licenses.licx file is there yet.

For the other hand, I’ve created a new form but when I try to add a control to it (ultraComboEditor), i get the following error message.

      Thanks,

        Hello Jorge,

If you are receiving this error, this usually means that there is content in the licenses.licx file of the application that does not match the version that you have referenced. Since you were using version 6.1 previously, this likely means that you 6.1 version information in the .licx file.

I would recommend that you open the .licx file and remove any lines that reference Infragistics. Then, if you clean and rebuild your application, it should build and run successfully.

If for some reason it does not, then another thing you can try is to delete the bin and obj files of the project as well as the hidden .vs folder that will be in the same directory as the solution.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns on this matter.
