• less than an hour later, I received an email informing me of Ambrose's reply
• 4 hours ago, I posted a "thank you"
• less than an hour later, I received an email informing me my "thank you"
• 5 minutes ago, I received an email informing me of my original question

It happens all the time, and it not only perpetrates a certain amount of confusion, it looks downright silly!
