After waiting for the 2008 vol 1 release I have to say I'm dissapointed by the packaging of the products. It seems to me that I need to download seperate pieces because the bundle is 2.0 only. So it appears I have to download the ASP.NET 3.X bundle to do ASP.NET work and Windows forms and AppStylist to do everything else. Since the windows forms controls are 2.0, I'm going to assume that there is no corresponding LINQ support in those controls as well.
How come we couldn't get two bundle options 2.0 or 3.X after all this time spent waiting?
Brad
A bundle that contains the ASP.NET 3.x bundle and the WinForms 2.0 bundle is being created and will be added to the downloads section.
In the help see the Windows Forms\Developer's Guide\What's New\What's New in 2008 Volume 1 for a topic called Full Support For Visual Studio 2008. There are 2 releated topics in there about binding WinCombo and WinGrid to data using Linq to Sql
Brad,
I renamed the post to make it easier for myself and others to find this important topic.
Thank you for raising it.
I had asked a product manager to investigate and respond.
I'm hoping to have a response posted to your shortly.
Interesting that you would take the time to rename the post, but not take the time to address the original post.
I'm confused on this as well. What exactly are all these different packages now?
Perhaps time to look at Telerik...
