I'm a little confused, but what should I do when I have a detailed technical problem, for example, (hwo to set the attribute so that I can ....).
Should I use Forum post or submit a support request?
I'm a trial user now, does it make any difference?

If you need further assistance with this matter please do not hesitate to contact us.
You can do either and we will assist you. The difference is that the forum post is public for all to see and the support request will be private. As such the forums provide a larger pool of people that can assist you and the support case will allow you to send private/confidential information that you wish to only share with Infragistics.
Even if you post on the forums and want to send us confidential information we can create a case from the forum thread for you so that you can send us the information through the case.
