Trying to group data in a grid by with a bool value. when I do I get some goofy data in the footer of the gird for each grouping (see red section in attached). Cant get rid of it and I only want to show the summary info for the Count column. How can this be resolved? See page razor code below and attached. I do not want to use any Java or JQuery for this... I would appreciate any help on this matter.. Hello John,
Thank you for posting into our community!
I have been looking into your question and what I would suggest is enabling the GroupSummeries method for the TicketTypeName column, this will display the Count summary for the column.
// Enable groupBy feature features.GroupBy() .Type(OpType.Local) .GroupByAreaVisibility(GroupAreaVisibility.Hidden) .FeatureChooserTextHide("") .ColumnSettings(groupedGolumn => { ... groupedGolumn.ColumnSetting().ColumnKey("TicketTypeName").IsGroupBy(false).AllowGrouping(false).GroupSummaries(true); ... });
Then, when defining the columns, the data type should be set to boolean instead of bool. Here could be found the available data types.
.Columns(column => { ... column.For(x => x.CheckedIn).DataType("boolean").Width("100px").HeaderText("Check-in").Hidden(true); })
Please test this approach on your side and let me know if you need any further assistance regarding this matter.
Looking forward to your reply.

Thank you for you reply. Your suggestion helped, however there is a image/icon in the group footer that I cannot seem to get rid of. Can you please further advise.Also, is it possible to specify the label for the group header. It currently reads Check-in: true (3). I would like it to read Check-in: Yes (3)..
Thanks John!
Thank you for your follow-up message!
After further investigating this matter, what I could say is that some options like the groupLabelFormatter accept functions as parameters and in order for them to work properly and as expected, these functions should be defined, i.e., inside the <script> tag. Furthermore, the group summary icons are displayed by default, and this is the expected behavior and modifying the css is a workaround approach in order to achieve your requirement.
Additionally, regarding your additional question, what I could say is that displaying only a certain group summary, i.e., Sum, for all columns could be achieved by setting the summaryFunction property of the groupSummaries option.
//Enable group summaries .GroupSummaries(gs => gs.GroupSummary().SummaryFunction(SummaryFunction.Sum))
Also, as this option has a lower priority than the groupSummaries defined under columnSettings for each column, this option should be removed from the column settings definitions.
//Enable groupBy feature features.GroupBy() .Type(OpType.Local) .GroupByAreaVisibility(GroupAreaVisibility.Hidden) .FeatureChooserTextHide("") .ColumnSettings(cs => { cs.ColumnSetting().ColumnKey("EventGUID").IsGroupBy(false).AllowGrouping(false); cs.ColumnSetting().ColumnKey("EventName").IsGroupBy(false).AllowGrouping(false); cs.ColumnSetting().ColumnKey("TicketTypeGUID").IsGroupBy(false).AllowGrouping(false); cs.ColumnSetting().ColumnKey("TicketTypeName").IsGroupBy(false).AllowGrouping(false); cs.ColumnSetting().ColumnKey("CheckInCount").IsGroupBy(false).AllowGrouping(false); cs.ColumnSetting().ColumnKey("PeopleCount").IsGroupBy(false).AllowGrouping(false); cs.ColumnSetting().ColumnKey("CheckedIn").IsGroupBy(true).AllowGrouping(true).GroupLabelFormatter("formatter"); })
The result from the above configurations could be observed below:
Let me know if you need further assistance regarding this matter.

Im sorry but i not clear on suppressing group summaries except for sum. Can you please further elaborate? Not sure how to only show sum of each group instead of min, max...
Thanks!
In the group totals you can see that the grid is showing Count, Min, Max, Sum and Avg for each group. I only want the Sum for each group not the rest of the summaries in each group.. I cannot seem to not show the others.. See attached
Hello, where do we stand on this last issue?? I have not heard back from you!
Thank you for following up!
There seems to have been an issue with the system as I have provided an answer the previous week. I apologize for the inconvenience and if the explanation from my previous message did not answer your question properly.
Could you please confirm that your requirement is similar to the following result?
Attached could be found a small sample demonstrating the suggestion from my previous message here along with explanatory comments.
Please test it on your side and let me know if you need any further assistance regarding this matter.
Additionally, if this is not an accurate demonstration of what you are trying to achieve, please feel free to modify it and send it back to me along with steps to reproduce it.
