New 17.1 comes up as the following :
where is documentation that describes what is in each item.. is platform installer cover everything ( samples and complete bundle) etc.
Also attempt to use platform installer resulted in 6 errors.. How to address them ? see attached.
Hello Michael,
Yes, platform installer does cover everything for individual product (like samples, version utility, VS extensions etc.) you just have to select the check box for all the options.
Regarding your error while running installer, thank you for providing the log file.I looked into log file and can see below error:
‘No URI for this file has been set. Please verify that there is an active internet connection and try again.’
The exception that is thrown when an invalid Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) is detected. It means for whatever reason, you can't connect to our server to download the installers. This might be because a firewall or some security settings on your network (or maybe you just isn't connected to the internet. You can check either your network is blocking the infragistics address, or you can just use the complete bundle
Please let me know if you need further assistance on this matter.
is the complete bundle equivalent of the Platform Installer that just does not need to download items online ? What does it includes .. do I need to install samples and VS extension ?
Where the documentation that clarify all install pieces..
Thanks
Hello,
Platform Installer is online installer which will download, during the installation, only the components you have chosen to install, so If you are looking for a single product installation, we recommend using platform installer.Complete Bundle is the same but offline installer. It will download all the components.
So if the machine where you will install the Infragistics Controls has connection to internet it is better to use the Platform Installer. Otherwise if the machine for some reason is not connected to internet you should use Complete Bundle.
You can refer this post providing more information:

It is up to you if you wants to install samples or not for future reference. We have samples available online also.
Yes I would recommend you to install VS extension, whatever visual studio version you are using for coding. It will create a infragistics folder in the toolbar of VS.
We do not have any document for all the installer, though I have this post providing information about platform installer:

Please let me know if you need further assistance.

Running Platform Installer outside virtual network helped - all installed except one error regarding VS 2017 extension.. log is attached.. btw does platform installer installs samples or I have to run it separately..
Thanks.
After further discuss your log file with the development team I found the information that:
The Platform Installer is placing the VSExtension msi under C:\ProgramData\Infragistics\17.1\Setups\Infragistics_VSExtension_20171.msi. The error says: Access to the path 'C:\ProgramData\Infragistics' is denied.
The currently logged user needs to have Full Control permissions over that folder. So, he either needs to be logged in as administrator on the machine, or let someone grant the currently logged user Full Control permissions over 'C:\ProgramData\Infragistics' folder. After that he should be able to install the VSExtension.
Have a full access to the infragistics folder and run the installer again.
Please let me know if it resolve the issue or you need further assistance.
