For some reason the header text in my WebGrid only displays the bottom half of the text. It doesn't matter how high i make the header row, you can only see half of the text. I've also noticed aligning the text to the bottom or the top of the row doesn't display the text at all, it has to be be aligned to the middle.
Has anyone else experienced this and/or got a solution?

Turns out it was a setting in the style sheet that was causing the issue.

This one is very tough to say. My gut feeling is that there is a global CSS style defined somewhere that interferes with headers. UltraWebGrid essentially renders as an HTML table and its headers are inside <th> tags, so can you please double check if you have somewhere global CSS styles defined for tables and/or table th tags?
You can also install FireBug for FireFox, choose inspect element and see the HTML and styles that are currently active for the header (and even disable some CSS styles that might be offending) - this will surely provide additional clues (see screenshot attached).
