Web application starter kit
posted

Hi All,

I am looking at starting a new project for a web based application. I was wondering if anyone had used or could recommend a 'starter kit' that had things like the user security, data layers etc already done.

I don't need to re-invent the wheel and I would like to concentrate on the real  business coding.

I am interested in using Silverlight controls but we already have the WPF controls. So if you have a view on Silverlight vs WPF I would be grateful.

Cheers

Phil

    Hello Phil,

Thank you for your post. I have been looking through it and I suggest you use the Silverlight’s Business Application template, where the log in and registration logic is implemented. You can read more about it here :

    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee707360%28v=vs.91%29.aspx

Also our Silverlight controls are similar to the WPF controls and I recommend you use them in order to create web based application, because this is what Silverlight is meant for. You can download our Silverlight controls from here:

Silverlight applications can also be downloaded and used out of browser. Please note, we are making efforts to ensure all posts are addressed by an Infragistics expert. We believe that the other community members could benefit from this thread as well.

Feel free to write me if you need further assistance.
