Export to PDF without rendering into XamReportViewer

Hi,

I am using the NetAdvantage Reporting 2011.1 in a silverlight application. I would like to export the report without rendering in the XamReportViewer. Basically the scenario is that the user selects the desired number of different reports from the list and click export; at this time I need to get stream for all reports one by one and create one stream for all and then write that stream into one PDF file. is this possible

Hi,

I have installed CTP 2. Could you please provide a code snippet for:

How to use Export method programmatically? How to pass the target stream in it?

How to show save dialog to the user before calling export and save the PDF file on the user’s selected location?

How to invoke print programmatically?

Hi,

You will be able to export the report without displaying the XamReportViewer. Notice that the viewer must still be added to the Visual Tree but you can hide it. You should configure it to render the report you like to export (as usual) and use the Export method to perform the Export. In order to call the Export method you will need to know when the report processing has been completed, therefore you will need to install CTP2 (that event was not available in CTP1).

Notice that we currently don’t provide a way to merge several PDFs into one PDF. Merging several reports is in our list but we will not support it for V1.
