I am attaching a sample application that demonstrates how you can use the phones camera in order to shoot a picture of a barcode and then using the XamBarcodeReader how you can get the information of that barcode. I am also attaching and a MS Word document that goes though creating the sample.

Hi Manfred,

Do you want to get it from the list of pictures taken by the camera or from the camera directly?

Both scenarios have examples in the sample browser.
