Are there any examples showing how to "wire up" a report to a local datatable stored in a Dataset?
Hello kevinlkingma,
This is just a follow up on the thread if you questions in regards to binding an ObjectDataSource. In the help documentation link provides on how to work with data sources.
Let me know if you have any questions with this matter. Thank you.
Hello everyone,
I believe the most straightforward way for binding a report to a DataSet is by converting the DataTable where your data resides to an IEnumerable collection. You can do that by using the following LINQ sample:
var sequence = from items in table.AsEnumerable() select new { ItemName = items.Field<string>("ItemName") };
You can create all the fields you need in the "select new" statement by doing the same the sample above is doing for the ProductName column.
Finally, as Duane mentioned, this should be implemented by using an ObjectDataSource.
Please let me know if that helps.
Thanks and regards,
Damián
For the supported list of data sources in the report can be found here: http://help.infragistics.com/NetAdvantage/reporting/2011.2/CLR4.0?page=How_to_Work_With_Data_Sources.html. There is also an example for binding a report using an ObjectDataSource: http://help.infragistics.com/NetAdvantage/reporting/2011.2/CLR4.0?page=How_to_Bind_a_Report_to_an_Object_Data_Source.html. This would require creating an IEnumerable collection.
