I have created a sample application for you which demonstrates how you can add two TextBlocks, which can be used in order to show a labels that describes the Axes of the XamDataChart. In order to do that you can add the XamDataChart and the TextBlock to a XamDock panel and using its Edge property  you can position the TextBlocks.
