Sorting a column that has DESC in the name

In the prior version of UltraWebGrid that were were using (9.2), we have column names such as "Notice Type Desc" that we were able to sort by putting in the  UltraWebGrid1_InitializeLayout1 event brackets around the name of the column, "[Notice Type Desc]".

In the version we are upgrading to (11.1), this same code is not working.  When clicking on the column heading, an error is thown saying "Notice Type" does not exist in the Table.

We've tried many solutions, including renaming the column in the data table, but have not been successful.

Any tips would be welcomed!
