Hello,
I have a problem and it seems to be one many people experience with silverlight as well. I have a pdf file that needs to be viewed and printed, in a silverlight LoB application. There literally seems to be no way to do this, effectively. The file itself is generated for me, via a library and I have the filestream, just no where to put it!
My questions are as follows:
Does infragistics have any way of displaying a pdf file in silverlight?
If not, why? and is this a planned feature? It appears some other component companies do have pay for features for this item.
If none of the above, have you ever encountered this problem and have a work around with your current control set?
This is a huge deal for my company so I am hoping to at least get some feedback on this issue, thanks!
Thank you for your feedback and the provided information. When tha product idea gets implemented you will be notified.
Thanks again.
Thank you for your response. This is truely gratifying news. We are working on a large project that will be done entirely in silverlight and will utilize a great deal of pdf resources that will need to be displayed to the end user. It can be done by using various work arounds, but it would fantastic (and a good sell point!) to be able to use a simple control to display/print pdfs in silverlight. As a suggestion it would be good if the control could take a file or a stream, since file opening/saving is limited in Silverlight and in many cases the pdf will be dynamically generated by iTextSharp (or something similiar) and will be recieved in stream format as to not need a file name. Thanks again for listening!
