It would appear that if you run any WPF Report on a machine with large fonts set then the report renders very badly in the preview window and when printed.
Steps to reproduce;
With Windows set to normal (100%) font size, create a report with an Image with the container sized to the image, and a Table that stretches across the width of the page.
With normal fonts, the report will look correct when previewed. Now, using the Windows Control Panel adjust the display settings so that Windows is displayed with 125% or larger fonts. When the report is previewed now, the image will be scaled to a size to large to be able to view it all in the container and the table that previously fitted the width of the page is now reduced to about two thirds of the width of the page.
This is a very serious bug. Can you please let me know if there is a work around for this issue and if it is fixed in the upcoming new release?
Thanks.
Hi,
I have seen both of your posts and I would recommend that you use the section on the forums that is dedicated to Reporting. http://forums.infragistics.com/
Scroll down on this site and you will see the NetAdvantage Reporting link and several sub topics within that section.
After some research concerning your central question I have submitted a product idea for you directly to our Product Management team with the details that you provided, measuring the reports of our Reporting product in pixels, in order that the reports appear the same way when opened in machines with different dpi rates.
Our product team chooses new feature requests for development based on popular feedback from our customer base. Infragistics continues to monitor application development for all of our products so as trends appear in requested features, we can plan accordingly.
We value your input, and our philosophy is to enhance our toolset based on customer feedback. If your features are chosen for development you will be notified at that time. Your reference number is PI1205006. Please let me know fi you have further questions.
Hi Marianne,
Thank you for your response.
I am very much at a loss to understand why you would consider this to be a ‘feature request’. This is not a request for a new feature, rather it is a very significant bug that prevents users who have their system set to large fronts from being able to see reports produced through Infragistics Reporting.
As monitor sizes increase, many users increase the dpi of their screens to compensate for the very high resolutions that these screens run at. Many users with less than perfect sight need to increase the DPI to be able to use Windows applications. Please understand that if the reports do not work with large fonts then the whole application will likely be rendered unusable.
I have users who cannot use the application I have provided them with because Infragistics Reporting does not work on their systems. Please understand that these users are effectively down because Infragistics reporting does not work correctly.
Please can you let me know when this defect will be fixed, so I can make a decision whether to re-engineer all of the Infragistics Reports I have created with a reporting tool from another vendor or hope my customers will be patient enough to wait for a resolution from Infragistics?
Please do not suggest that that users affected should switch their systems back to a low DPI as for many this is simply not an option.
I look forward to hearing how and when you will resolve this problem.
Regards,
Tim.
Hi Tim,
This is a bug and it is still present in our upcoming release (12.1). We are still analyzing it. I will let you know as soon we have a date for a fix and if there are possible workarounds.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best,
Leo
I have created a private case for you so that I can link you to the development issue that Leo mentioned, #58513, which has already been logged.
You will hear from me shortly thru the case.
This issue is fixed in the last SR for 11.2 and 12.1 available for download since last week.
Please let me know if you have any other question.
