Hello,
I am using NetAdvangate Reporting 2012.1 SR 2046 within Visual Studio 2010. I have written two WPF applications that have Infragistics reports in them. Yesterday I went to modify one of the reports by double-clicking on it in the solution but all I get is the XML. The report designer fails to appear. I opened my other project with reports in it and experienced the same issue. So I created a new WPF application and added an Infragistics report to it. This time double-clicking on the IGR file opened a blank page but still no designer. I have restarted VS2010 several times and restarted my computer multiple times but nothing seems to work. Would anybody have any idea why my designer would stop working in VS2010? I did install VS2012 a couple of weeks ago, would that have any affect on reporting within VS2010 for some reason?
Hello Michael,
Thank you for your feedback. I am glad that you resolved your issue and I believe that other community members may benefit from this as well.
Thanks again.
Stefan, thank you for the reply. I haven't installed any new versions of NetAdvantage Reporting on my machine. One day the designer just stopped working and the only thing I can think of is that I installed Visual Studio 2012 since the last time I worked on a report. I ended up solving my problem my uninstalling all versions of NetAdvantage that were on my computer and reinstalling NetAdvantage 12.1 on my machine. It took me about 4.5 hours to complete this task but at the end of the day I was able to design reports again.
Thank you for your post. I have been looking into it and I can say that the behavior you described occurs, when you install new version of NetAdvantage Reporting. The thing you should do then is removing the Report from the project and add I again, and you should get a message to update the Report. If after doing this you still encounter design issues, I can suggest you reinstall the NetAdvantage Reporting.
