I am using a HeaderTemplate on a TextColumn to wrap the text. Here's an example:
<ig:TextColumn Key="StreetAddress1" HeaderText="{Binding ControlTesterStrings.StreetAddress1}"> <ig:TextColumn.HeaderTemplate> <DataTemplate> <TextBlock Text="{Binding ControlTesterStrings.StreetAddress1, Source={StaticResource ResourceWrapper}}" TextWrapping="Wrap" Width="47"/> </DataTemplate> </ig:TextColumn.HeaderTemplate> </ig:TextColumn>
When I use the PersistenceManager to save the grid, it works, but when the grid is reloaded, the HeaderTemplate is discarded for this column, and it just shows "StreetAddress1" as a single word in the HeaderText instead of ControlTesterStrings.StreetAddress1 which expands to "Street Address 1".
When I save, I'm using these settings:
PersistenceSettings ps = new PersistenceSettings(); ps.PropertySettings.Add(new PropertyNamePersistenceInfo { PropertyName = "ColumnMovingSettings", }); ps.PropertySettings.Add(new PropertyNamePersistenceInfo { PropertyName = "ColumnChooserSettings", });
I tried adding ColumnLayouts[].Columns[].HeaderTemplate and ColumnLayouts[].ColumnsHeaderTemplate, but I'm really just guessing. Which is the appropriate setting to use?
Thanks!
Hello,
Thank you for your post. I have been looking into it and I created a sample project for you with the functionality you want. Basically I created the DataTemplate for the Header in the App.xaml files’ Recourses. I also set the Identifier Attached Property like it is described here:
http://help.infragistics.com/doc/Silverlight/2013.2/CLR4.0/?page=Persistence_Identifier.html
so the Persistence Framework could persist the DataTemplate. Please let me know if this helps you or you need further assistance on this matter.
Looking forward for your reply.
Thanks, Stefan. This works as long as I define the DataTemplate as an application resource. The problem is that I am actually extending XamGrid with added functionality in a different assembly. I am then referencing that XamGrid in my XAML file instead of the stock Infragisitcs XamGrid. I'd like for the DataTemplate to reside in the custom XamGrid assembly, because this control could end up in any number of applications, but if I do that, the resource cannot be found.
Is there a way to solve that?
Hello again,
As stated in the article I sent you in my previous reply, the Identifier looks for resources in the application's Resources, so you can suggest new product idea (for the scenario you have) for future versions (or vote for existing ones) at http://ideas.infragistics.com.
There are many benefits to submitting an product idea:
- Direct communication with our product management team regarding your product idea.
- Notifications whenever new information regarding your idea becomes available.
- Ability to vote on your favorite product ideas to let us know which ones are the most important to you. You will have ten votes for this and can change which ideas you are voting for at any time.
- Allow you to shape the future of our products by requesting new controls and products altogether.
- You and other developers can discuss existing product ideas with members of our Product Management team.
Steps to create your idea:
The Product Idea site puts you in the driver’s seat and allows you to track the progress of your ideas at any time, see how many votes it got, read comments from other developers in the community, and see if someone from the product team has additional questions for you.
