One of Infragistics' main competitors is introducing a new scheduling component and that component has some features I have been wishing for in the Infragistics scheduler for some time.
The main thing I need desperately is the ability to drag an appointment around. With the new component I mentioned above you can drag to reschedule within the same day (as Infragistics also allows) AND you can drag to a different day (which Infragistics does not allow). My customers say (and I agree) it makes no sense to be able to only drag within a single day when a whole week is displayed.
Also the new component lets me drag an appt from one resource to another when displaying multiple resources.
I'm hoping someone from Infragistics will read this and provide some sort of roadmap for the scheduler component. Or maybe they are done with enhancing this component?
Chris,
that would be great! Thanks in advance!
John
I have pulled this off by doing some simple javascript and ajax calls I am almost done putting my new site online (later this week) as I have been away on personal business and have not been able to do much of anything on the computer let alone check my e-mails or the forums but will add this tutorial for dragging and dropping between days in the dayview (with visible days etc.), week view and month view when I put the site online this week.
I would second the motion for this functionality... We are also looking for a planner/scheduler (and complete suite) but it must allow dragging between days. Most others allow this and I was hoping Infragistics would as well. Everything else looks great, but this is a hang up for our requirements. Is there any kind of workaround to easily get this functionality, or a commitment to include this in the next release? Thanks.
I need to know whether there are any near-term improvements planned for the web scheduler. By near-term mean .NET 2008 Volume 2 or at least by .NET 2008 Volume 3. By now you must be pretty clear on what is happening (or not happening) in the next version at least as it relates to the web scheduler. My concern is that you have released the web scheduler and abandoned it.
I really hope to hear something positive about this as we are preparing for a switch to another component vendor otherwise. Thanks.
Devin,
thanx for your reply. I guess I will wait for another release to see if anything is being updated in the scheduler. last year felt like not much happened except for gauges (which I don't really have a use for!); I sure hope 2008 won't be as quiet.
