We had an application running fine until a recent upgrad to IE8 from IE7. We retrieve about 100 rows of data into an Ultrawebgrid that takes a second or so. When an individual tries to sort any column it takes many many minutes and runs the processor up to 75%. Prior to the upgarde it would only take a few seconds.
We tried three things - first we reinstalled a Vanilla version of IE8 and that did not change anything. Second we reinstalled IE7 and performance came back to an acceptable level. Third we relaced the Ultrawebgrid with a webgrid (Ajax) and ran it on IE8 and the perfomance was out of this world. Anyway does anyone have any idea what may be causing the performance loss with IE8 and Ultawebgrid?
W would prfer not to replace the thousands of grids we use with the WebGrid at thisd point...

IE8 is known to have performance issues especially when it comes to rendering table elements. More information on that subject can be found in the following thread:
