I have a grid with a dropdownprovider (created dynamically) and it works great on load. However, any time I sort a column, or select a summary option, the dropdown shows the valuefield value and not the textfield value. If I click on the dropdown, it shows the textfield value but it doesn't stay there if I click in another cell.
Any update on this? I am having a similar issue.
I am still having issues with the dropdown provider in webdatagrid. I am using the latest build 2011.2 SR 2055. Everything is working great except that it is sorting on the value field and not on the text field when I sort that column.

I was able to reproduce the issue with the WebHierarchicalDataGrid.
I used one DropDownEditor : once declared in the markup and also dynamically created.
It behaves in different way in the two cases

I upgraded to the latest build and that didn't fix my issue. I have since abandoned the use of the webdatagrid and gone back to the ultrawebgrid due to time constraints.
Can you please let me know which build do you use?
I have tested the behavior with the latest service release (10.3.20103.2120)
and I was not able to encounter this issue.
