We are migrating from the UltraWebTree to the WebDataTree.
With the UltraWebTree, we could set the "SelectedImageUrl" property, but there doesn't seem to be an equivalent with the WebDataTree.
We are displaying "Folders" in the tree, when the user selects "Folder" we want to display an image representing that the "Folder" is open. See the following example:

Currently there is non such functionality in the WebDataTree.
I recommend you creating a feature request regarding this:
http://devcenter.infragistics.com/Protected/RequestFeature.aspx
At this time DataTreeNode has only SelectedCssClass.
