HI,
I am working on an assignment where I am upgrading our .Net 1.1 web applciation to be compatible to IE9. I am currently experiencing some concerns with the Ultrawebgrid that has been implemented. Now, I have searched your forums to find that the javascript errors that I get is definitely due to incompatibility with IE9.
Please suggest what would I need to do inorder to upgrade the IG Controls without having to upgrade .Net framework version.
Thanks in advance!!
Hi Nikolay/Peter
The other issue is also resolved now. Replacing the ig_res folder did help. Thanks for your suggestion.
One other thing, I noticed that the WebUI.IltraWebNavigator control do not have the 'Title' property for Items anymore in v10.2 which it sis in v6.3. Now in our code we are using that property in a lot of places and was wondering what should I change to achieve the same.
For instance:
This is what we use in the client script.
igmenu_getItemById(itemId).Element.firstChild.firstChild.children[1].title
and now the title is always empty since I had to remove it from the design as the application was throwing a runtime error. Also, I cant see the 'tooltip' property in when i do
igmenu_getItemById(itemId).Element.firstChild.firstChild.children[1].tooltip.
Any suggestion.
Hi wsndev,
Thank you for your reply.
Please feel free to continue sending us updates regarding this matter.
Thanks for replying Nikolay,
Turns out the first issue was regarding Visual Studio's compiler validation configuration. I had to supress the Validation option for IE6. The application runs fine now.
I will replace the ig_res folder as per your suggestion and see how it goes.
Thanks,
wsndev
I would need some more information about your issue. What NetAdvantage version are you currently using? And which particular controls and elements are causing this errors? It would also be helpful if you could attach a sample project, demonstrating these validation issues. About your second question – it’s possible that you need some new images after the upgrade. I suggest that you replace the ig_res folder in your project with the new one.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
HI Nikolay,
I am back again. Well, we upgraded our .Net 1.1 application to .Net 2.0 so that we could the Infragistics controls that would support framework 2.0 and IE9 compatibility. However, after upgrading the Infragistics dlls, I am facing some problems.
1. I have a bunch of Validation (Internet Explorer 6): Element '' is not supported errors. These elements are all related to infragistics control related items.
2. File '<image_name>.gif' was not found. These images are again infragistics control related. I get a bunch of these as well.
To upgrade the dlls, all I did was replace the old references from the project and add the new ones. Furthermore, I also updated the page register tags to point to the new dlls.
Please let me know if there is anything I am missing out on.
