Without going through all the rows you want be able to find the index of the row across all bands. The grid keeps only the visible index of the rows within a single band and not across the different bands. I understand your concerns, but currently the only way to achieve this is to use the technique I demonstrated in my last reply.

Thanks so much for your effort!

Unfortunately, I cannot use the approach you suggested because it is too time consuming. I need to display this type of row numbers on the row headers. I have close to one million rows and many bands. I was hoping UltraGrid maintain a magic row number :-) My guess is there is no easy and efficient way to do this.
