Currently, you cannot prevent the ribbon from minimizing when the tabs are double clicked. You can submit a feature request to be able to turn off this feature: http://devcenter.infragistics.com/Protected/RequestFeature.aspx. However, it sounds like you just don't want a use to see the image problem. If so, I would recommend submitting this to the support group: http://ko.infragistics.com/gethelp. This way, if it is a bug and can be fixed, you will not have to remove functionality to hide it.
