Bubbling MouseWheel/Up/Down event to Grid from cell dropdown

I have a dropdown in ultragrid

For some reason I can not intercept MouseWheel hack posted http://forums.infragistics.com/forums/p/3726/175242.aspx (I also added post to this discussion).

Is there a way I can ALWAYS show dropdown when the user enters into the cell that has dropdown?

This is what happens now:
First time when I click into the cell that has dropdown it will show the drop down and one more soft click in that cell makes the dropdown invisible and from then onwards UP/DOWN/MOUSEWHEEL changes the selected value of the dropdown.

So I was hoping If I can show the dropdown all the time then up/down/mousewheel effect the scroll bar on the dropdown instead of changing the selected value in the dropdown.
