I am using the Ultra Toolbars Manager 7.1 in VS 2005
I have an application that has a ribbon with all my tabs, buttons, pop-up galleries, etc... and I have used the Load/Save Configuration option on the control to save the ribbon into an XML file.
I have a new application I am working on and I don't want to have to recreate the ribbon so I tried to use the Load/Save Configuration option to load the XML file from the first application. That is when I get an error that states "Error encountered while loading from stream".
I can manually open the XML file and view the contents with no problem and my first application that I designed the ribbon in works just fine.
I have attached the XML file to this post. Can anyone shed any light on what my problem might be or a direction on things I should try to resolve this.
Thank you,
Nathan
Mike,
Thank you for the reply. I still have not been contacted by a DS engineer about this issue.
How I ran across this was by trying to give the user the ability to have the ribbon saved when they close and then reopen the application with the ribbon in the same layout as they left it. If I save the xml layout and then try to load it at runtime giving the user the ability to save their last layout and when the application opens again it will be the same as when they closed it, the xml file is saved but when they open the application their ribbon bar is back to the original layout.
I am looking to upgrade to the latest version if I can get this to work. I tried installing the demo of the latest version of the toolbar manager to see if it would load my xml file and it fails with the same error.
This looks like a bug in our loading logic. I have forwarded this post to the Developer Support Manager and a DS engineer will be contacting you about this issue.
