How call words Insert -> Symbol dialog box from win grid

It is desired to use the Symbols in Microsoft to display data in a graphical format within an Infragistics Grid. For example : In MS Office products like Excel and Word the User can select from the Ribbon toolbar Insert | Symbol and a dialog pops up. The user selects the desired font and then chooses a Symbol. Once the symbol is inserted into a word or excel document the user can adjust the font size and color. Similarly, It is desired to be able to use these symbols within an Infragistics Grid to obtain a result similar to the following to easily see late or on time activities.

I don't think there are any events that fire when you click on an item in the list specifically. But I'm not sure I understand exactly what you want to do.

Maybe you can use the CellListCloseUp event on the grid? This event will fire when the list closes for whatever reason.

Thanks , that helped a lot. One more issue related with this is that , i have used valuelist in my grid. Now i want to add a event on the dropdown binded with that column. That is on its click and selection change it will show me some dialog. Dialog display is not the major one, just tell me how do i attach event. I did'nt find any event as we have in asp.net row_databound().. Thanks

There's no functionality like this built-in to the grid.I'm not sure where these symbols come from. Do they exist as normal characters or are they perhaps using Wingdings or some other special font?

If they are part of every font, then this would be a simply matter of creating the dialog and adding that character into the text of the cell.

If they come from a special font, then you would have to change the Style of the cell to FormattedText so that you could insert a font tag and specify a font for a character or range of characters.
