Is there anyway to change the Ultratooltip text to GDI from GDI+. Compared to the inbox tooltip control, the text looks blurry. Plus there's no drop shadow. Any advice??

What do you mean by "blurry?" Can you post a screen shot here? Just attach an image file to your post and it will show up on the forums.
What version of the controls are you using?
To answer your question, the answer is no, there's no way to change to GDI mode, but you really shouldn't have to and there's no reason why the text should be blurry.
I'm not sure what you mean about a drop shadow. Are you talking about on the text or on the tooltip itself?
The text within the balloon tip is not as sharp as the inbox control. I know the other IG controls default to GDI+ so I assumed the ultratooltip defaults to GDI+ too which led to the "blurry" text IMO.
Dropshadow: the inbox control's ballontip has a nice drop shadow around it; the IG control does not making it look very 2-dimensional.
I still prefer the IG tooltip, but the inbox does have a little more "polish" IMO with sharper text and the shadow for a more 3-d appearance.
I recommend that you Submit a feature request to Infragistics for each of these features.
I went ahead and submitted a feature request for the drop shadows.
