how to add regular expression in Value List of an ultragrid column.

i have a value list having item AXB where A and B are non-editable while X value can be upto two digit number like A1B, A5B ,A10B

user should be able to enter X value in the Value List directly  like AXB  --->>    A10B

please discribe the regular expression for value list and code snipet
