Hello,
Can you please tell me why Visual Studio 2010 gets very slow when I use Netadvantage?
Hello WillemterHorst,
I have been using Visual Studio 2010 and it works really as I am expecting when using NetAdvantage components. Could you please let me know if you are performing any specific steps, or maybe some specific enviroment under which are using your Visual Studio ?
Please feel free to let us know if you have any other questions with this matter.
Hello
My system is a Windows 7 Ultimate, 8G RAM, 2.8 GHz i7 CPU. I am running VS 2010 Ultimate with the latest NetAdvantage load (v.11.1).
Just recently I upgraded to v11.1. I noticed since then that, although my application runs just fine on its own, it was painfully slowwwww whenever I enter a debugging session. I Googled a variety of things to check with my VS setup but nothing worked. I then decided to run a profile session on my application and it identified two hot spots. The text below is an extract from that profiling session but the two functions are:
-Infragistics.Win.UltraWinTree.VisibleNodesManager.ProcessDescendantNodes
-Infragistics.Win.UltraWinTree.UltraTreeNode.get_HasNodes
Again, this slowness occurred after I upgraded to v11.1. Any ideas or suggestions as to what I can do to improve this?
Thanks
Hello johnWildhalm
Thank you for the provided information.
I would like to ask you what service release for NetAdvntage 2011 vol1 you are using in your test application?
If this is not the latest one could you please log to your account in our web site and under "My IG" select ‘Keys & Downloads’. Select the appropriate tab for this product, then the license key. The available service releases should now be listed on the page.
If you are able to perform your tests one more time against the latest service release could you please let us know what are the results after that.
Thank you for your assistance.
Thank you for the reply. I followed your instructions and cannot find a specific version under the "Service Releases" section - it only says "Service Release". The only section I see version information is under the "Source Code" section. I have no way of know which service release I am using. I installed the version I am using in late August (August 22 I believe) so that may help.
Hello JohnWidhalm,
I have created the following case for you, where we could continue with our conversation about this issue : CAS-74026-P5HKFF
Please feel free to let me know here or through the case if you have any other questions.
Danko,
I am having exactly the same problem. I am working on a Silverlight 4 project with Infragistics Controls. VS 2010 has got incredibly slow during the last 10 days. It seems to be fine working with projects where I am not using Infragistics SL controls.
many thanks
I discovered the problem. It seems that adding the Ingragistics Theme files is the reason for slowness.
thanks
