I'm using a WinGanttView with a configurable primary interval of days, weeks, and months. When viewing the timeline with a Months primary interval and if a task's start date falls in the middle of a month, the timeline bar displays as if the task started at the beginning of that particular month. Is this the expected behavior? If not, how can I configure it to display the exact bar length according to the duration, just how it is in MS Project. The same case is also observed when using Weeks primary interval.
We are using NetAdvantage for Windows Forms version 10.3
Please see screenshots below:
Primary Interval: Months
Notice that 2 tasks have only 62 days duration but their timeline bars are equal to the length of tasks with 92 days duration:
Primary Interval: Weeks
Notice that the timeline bars started on Sept. 26 even though the tasks' start date is still on Oct. 1.
Thanks!
If this issue will be solved, we will purchase the new version. We need a solution asap.
Is this problem about to be solved in 13.1?
Regards, Daniel
I found a possible workaround but I have an other problem.
I carefully read http://help.infragistics.com/Help/NetAdvantage/WinForms/2011.2/CLR2.0/html/WinGanttView_Set_Timeline_Intervals_in_Chart_Area_of_WinGanttView.html
So I created two intervals :
One primary interval set to 1 hour
One other interval set to 1 day.
Then I set column width to a small value : 4 pixels.
Thus I have a 1 hour precision on my task in the gantt diagram and I still see each day in the header.
Nevertheless, in my gantt header there is an other line which exists because of my primary interval, I simply want to hide this.
How can I do this?
Hello Kal,
Product management is still planning 13.1 and this feature is among the features that are being considered.
Please let me know if you have any questions regarding this matter.
The same thing will happen when those tasks contain dependencies. The gantt will not display them correctly.
