Winforms in pure 64Bit environments - Windows 9+
posted

Part 1

Apparently Windows 9 will be purely 64 Bit only with no 32 bit support at all (except via sandboxed virtual machines).

Will Winforms be able to run in a purely 64bit environment without the presence of any Win32 components. ?

Part 2

Based on what we know today, is WinForms still a safe option for desktop application development beyond Windows 8 ?, ie. there are no plans afoot to kill it off completely in say .Net 5.5 etc etc

    Hello Pv87992,

For me is very difficult to answer of your questions, because I`m not familiar with Microsoft`s intentions for the future periods. Maybe will be better to ask Microsoft.

Please let me know if you have any further questions.
