If I drop an UltraMaskEdit control on a TableLayoutPanel and set Dock to Fill it will fill horizontally but not vertically. Is this correct behavior? I would expect it to fill the entire contents of the cell just as the TextEditor does.
Hello Roger,
This is an expected behavior coming from the 'WinMaskedEdit' control. Please note that it has locked height since it is a single line control because of its masking feature. It does not support multiline and therefore could not be increased in height. I hope that I explained myself good enough.
Please feel free to let me know if a question about our toolset comes up on your mind.
Its not the answer I was looking for but as they say "it is what it is". thanks for the info.
Hello again,
If you like I could log this requirement as a new product idea in our system.
That works!!!!!!!! THANK YOU.
Actually... while the UltraMaskedEditor does not support multi-line text, the height is not permanently fixed. You can allow the control's height to change by simply setting AutoSize to false.
We do need masked input but I think we will use the UltraTextEditor and just have it a READ-ONLY. We can then add a side button (made large) and when clicked popup the Calendar Combo that can be made touch friendly as well. the only thing we have to work on is a CreationFilter to enlarge the Calendar dropdown button.
We shall see.
Roger,
If you do not need MaskInput support you could use the 'UltraTextEditor' control and you will be able to get the desired behavior. Please let me know of the detailed requirements if this does not suit your needs and I will give my best to find a workaround for you.
