Hello,
When I add a ribbon to a form the form automatically gets the nice Office 2007 formatting for borders, etc. If I open a dialog form without a ribbon it doesn't get that same styling though. How can I force the forms to all look alike without adding a ribbon where it isn't needed?
You don't have to show the ribbon on the other Forms, but if you want the Office 2007 look on the other Forms, you will need to add an UltraToolbarsManager. You can set its FormDisplayStyle to RoundedFixed or RoundedSizable.
Ok, I added an UltraToolbarsManager and set the FormDisplayStyle. When opening a dialog form there is a noticeable "blink" where the original Windows form (XP Blue title bar) style shows before it is replaced by the AppStylist style. Is there a way to get rid of that?
There also seems to be an issue in that every time the form is opened in the designer after adding the toolbarsmanager it is modified so it gets checked out. Any thoughts?
I'm not sure if the flash of the default caption is a bug, but its possible. The issue about opening the designer and having the file checked out is probably a bug. I would recommend submitting these issues to the support group: http://ko.infragistics.com/gethelp.
I reported these as separate incidents. I am very unhappy with the result so far. They are incidents WTB6485 and WTB6486. In both cases I was sent a reply which included a video. The reply said the problem was not reproducible but in both cases the video demonstrated exactly what I reported! I certainly hope this is a mistake and not an intentional way to brush off the reports. I have always found Infragistics to be above board and responsive up until now.
I've followed up on these two support requests, and I agree that both of these issues were not handled particularly well. I'm discussing this wtih the Developer Support Engineer involved to better understand what happened and to keep something like this from happening again.I also see that the Developer Support Engineer passed both of these issues to our developers for further investigation, once the engineer realized that he'd reproduced the behavior you'd reported in both cases. You'll be notified of a solution, whether automatically if we make a change to our product, or manually if some other resolution is identified.
Thank you for the quick response Vince. We are about to purchase two new Infragistics Net Advantage licenses and I was starting to wonder if the quality of support had degraded. It looks like there is still a commitment to quality at Infragistics. That makes me very happy and restores my confidence in our purchase.
