Hi All,
I have a RichTextDocument filled with formated text. I would like to add to it a footer and a header and save it to word. The main option to do that is using the WordprocessingMLWriter. How can load the formatted text to WordprocessingMLWriter and edit the document with it?
Thanks
Hello,
I have been researching the functionality that you are trying to achieve and it has been determined as a new Product Idea. We are only providing a way to create footers and headers in a new created document like this:
using (WordDocumentWriter writer = WordDocumentWriter.Create("Document.docx")) { try { //// Start the document writer.StartDocument(); // Specify the default parts for header/footer //HeaderAllPages SectionHeaderFooterParts parts = SectionHeaderFooterParts.HeaderAllPages; SectionProperties secProps = SectionProperties.Create(writer); // Call the overload of AddSectionHeaderFooter which does // not take a SectionProperties; this implies that the section // to be affected is the default document section, i.e., all // pages in the document. SectionHeaderFooterWriterSet writerSet = writer.AddSectionHeaderFooter(parts); //Start a paragraph for the header which appears on all pages writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.StartParagraph(); // Add a text run which appears on all pages (including the first one) writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.AddTextRun("This header appears on all pages including the first one."); writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.AddPageNumberField(PageNumberFieldFormat.Decimal); // Close the paragraph. writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.EndParagraph(); //Close the 'all pages' header writer writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.Close(); //// End the document writer.EndDocument(); } catch (WordDocumentWriterException ex) { MessageBox.Show("Message: " + ex.Message + "\n" + "Inner Exception: " + ex.InnerException); } }
using (WordDocumentWriter writer = WordDocumentWriter.Create("Document.docx")) { try { //// Start the document writer.StartDocument();
// Specify the default parts for header/footer //HeaderAllPages SectionHeaderFooterParts parts = SectionHeaderFooterParts.HeaderAllPages;
SectionProperties secProps = SectionProperties.Create(writer);
// Call the overload of AddSectionHeaderFooter which does // not take a SectionProperties; this implies that the section // to be affected is the default document section, i.e., all // pages in the document. SectionHeaderFooterWriterSet writerSet = writer.AddSectionHeaderFooter(parts); //Start a paragraph for the header which appears on all pages
writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.StartParagraph();
// Add a text run which appears on all pages (including the first one) writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.AddTextRun("This header appears on all pages including the first one.");
writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.AddPageNumberField(PageNumberFieldFormat.Decimal);
// Close the paragraph. writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.EndParagraph();
//Close the 'all pages' header writer writerSet.HeaderWriterAllPages.Close();
//// End the document writer.EndDocument(); } catch (WordDocumentWriterException ex) { MessageBox.Show("Message: " + ex.Message + "\n" + "Inner Exception: " + ex.InnerException); }
}
