There seems to be a major performance issue when adding a drop-shadow to the grid control. Editing cells in large datasets crawls with the shadow enabled. It is strange that the shadow would have any impact within the control but it does. Has anyone experienced this?

I have been looking through your post and I it seems like that on my side with one million Records and a DropShadow effect the XamDataGrid behave normal. What I can suggest you is see this blog:
