I am wondering whether the XamTilesControl allows me to put something on the front and back of a tile, then let me flip it over to see whats underneath, with some sort of 3d-like perspective flip?
I can see this looks possible in the silverlight controls, but can't find anything that would let me do it in the XamTilesControl?

It has been a while since you have made your post, in case you still need support I will be glad to assist you further. I suppose the other community members can benefit from this answer as well. I have been looking through your post and I can say that our controls doesn’t have a “back side”, neither does the Microsoft’s. In your case I can suggest you use an animation to flip or shrink the control and bring onto view another control to make it look like it has been flipped. Here you can read more about animations:
