Addnewrow doesn't show when child collection is empty

My child fieldlayout doesn't show the add row when the child collection is empty.  Did I miss a setting?  Thanks.

    Hi,

     Use a BindingList and make sure it is instantiated and not null.

     I am attaching a sample.

     The first person has its Cars collection set to null - no AddNewRow

     The 2nd person has its cars collection instantiated and has not cars - AddNewRow Appears.

     I am attaching a sample application that illustrates these points.
