I'm trying to setup a development environment in Visual Studio 2017 using Infragistics 17.2. When I add the infragistics grid control, Nothing appears Infragistics in the toolbox, I can't reference the grid control and I get the below warnings. Any suggestions?

Hey Jim, The 18.1 NuGet packages should definitely work with the toolbox. I just tested them myself and it worked for me. So, if you are connected to the licensed feed they should be made available to you. The reason that the installer still had 17.2 and not 18.1 is because the Xamarin product is the only product we have using Continuous Delivery. So we can update the Nuget feed instantly, but we are still trying to figure out how to integrate this process with our current non-CD products which includes the installer. The official 18.1 release date is targeted for April 24. At that point the new installer will be built and release with updated Xamarin packages. If you are still having issues, please email me directly at blagunas@infragistics.com.
The Xamarin.Forms Toolbox requires the use of the 18.1 assemblies. If you are a customer, these will be available on the licensed Nuget feed. If you are a trial customer, let me know and I will send you a link to download the 18.1 trial Nuget packages. Once you start using the 18.1 Nuget packages, as Michael points out, you should be using a .NET Standard project.
I was looking at this thread and had the same problem on an a trial, which is currently for 17.2 namely the controls not showing up it the toolbox, so I decided to just buy the controls sight unseen based on Brian's excellent reputation.
First, as of today, the download is for 17.2 not 18.1.
I just got this today and I assumed I would be getting 18.1?
What gives?
Jim
Hello Lynn,
Thank you for contacting Infragistics. These warnings are to be expected and can be ignored because 17.2 is not compatible with .NET Standard. Any app built with 17.2 and earlier should still be able to compile and run through Visual Studio 2017 for .NET Framework 4.6 etc.. Our Xamarin controls now target .NET Standard support starting in 18.1. Therefore any applications targeting .NET Standard will need to update Xamarin packages to 18.1
