Hello,
After upgrading from Infragistics 15.1 to 15.2 all the assemblies are missing from Visual Studio 2012 assembly search when adding a reference. See attached screenshot.
How can I get the assemblies available in the reference area?
Thanks,
Phillip
Hi Phillip,
When you say that you upgraded, do you mean that you installed the 15.2 product on your machine? I believe that Reference Manager dialog is checking the GAC on your machine for the assemblies so as long as you installed the product, they should be in the GAC and the Reference Manager should be able to find them. Did the 15.1 assemblies ever show up in that dialog? Installing 15.2 shouldn't have any influence on the 15.1 assemblies so at least those should still be there. That's very weird.
If you go to the C:\Program Files (x86)\Infragistics\2015.2\WPF\CLR4.0\Bin folder do you see the Infragistics DLLs in there?
I do see the assemblies in the directory you referenced and in the directory for 15.1. By "upgrade" I mean I have 15.1 and I used the 15.2 Installer to install 15.2 as well. I have done this same procedure for every new version since 12.1 with no issues but suddenly no assemblies are available immediately after the install of 15.2. To clarify, yes, the assemblies have always been available via the reference manager. I have not updated/altered visual studio or my machine in any way aside from the install of 15.2.
Where specifically should I look in the registry to see if the issue is there?
Check in here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\.NETFramework\v4.0.30319\AssemblyFoldersEx\. There should be an entry under AssemblyFoldersEx for Infragistics.WPFAssemblies.version.CLR40. The value for this should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Infragistics\version\WPF\CLR4.0\Bin.
Thank you for your help. I uninstalled and reinstalled and the assemblies are now available. Not sure if this was an installation fluke but the issue has been resolved.
