Scanning the New Topic notifications I've been receiving, I notice that they all describe the new threads as being posted "By <userId> in Discussions". The forum name appears always to be "Discussions". And yet, when I go to the post, it turns out to be in some other, more appropriate forum. Sometimes its in a forum to which I've never subscribed.
What's up with this?
Ed,
That's a good catch - thanks for bringing it to our attention. I'll look into it and see what's going on there.

Jess,
Since my original post, I've noticed at least one that was correctly labled. It was in the Aikido forum set.
HTH
BTW, I'm beginning to really like the new forums. And from a Luddite like me, that's a real compliment. ;-)
I am unsubscribing from the Discussions forum because it is sending me too much off-topic traffic.
As I only receive new-topic notifications, I won't even see the mis-posted threads that are relevant to areas where I might actually help.
Typically, it's the newbie questions that I can answer, and newbies are most likely to mis-post in this forum.
(Oh, well... My boss thinks I spend far too much time on this anyway. ;-)
The majority of the email notices I get are about topics I don't follow.
I'm not sure what the answer is, but I'm considering unsubscribing from "Discussions" because of this.
Ideas (mostly flawed):
Ed, we get a lot of folks who post any and everything to the Discussions forum. CS has a feature where we can move posts to the right forum, and we use it a lot. This helps ensure the post gets the right folks looking at it as well as future individuals searching in the forum will find what they're after. My guess is this is what you're seeing.
This problem has re-surfaced. Additionally, I'm getting two notices for each post.
