Just upgraded to 15.2.20152.2174 from 15.2.20152.1027 and looks like grouping with summaries is now using the column key instead of the header text in the group row. See example at
http://www.igniteui.com/grid/grouping
if you choose Order Date column in the grouping row it shows as OrderDate.
Any work around other than changing the column key which I really don't want to have to go that route as it will cause the API to have to be altered.
Thanks,
Steve
Hello Steve,
Thank you for posting in our forum.
I tested the sample that you mentioned (one from our samples browser) and on my side it was working as expected. When I grouped by column with key OrderDate in the grouping row the header text was shown - Order Date.
I also created a small sample with the version you are using and I am attaching it for your reference. On my side everything worked as expected and column`s header text was displayed in the grouped row. I tested under latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer 11 with version 15.2.20152.2174.
Could you please test this sample on your side and let me know what is the result? Whether or not this behavior is reproducible on your side will help me find the root cause of this matter. If this is not an accurate demonstration of what you are trying to achieve please feel free to modify it and send it back to me along with steps to reproduce. Please add all details that you consider relevant to your issue. Having a working sample that I can debug on my side is going to be highly appreciated.
Please let me know if you have any additional concerns or questions regarding this matter.
I added 2 new files to your example, igGridGroupingCustomSummaries.html and igGridGroupingNoSummaries.html. Couple of notes, upgrading version was not the cause of the issue I just hadn't noticed it before cause all the columns I was doing custom summaries on were a single word key like COST and I was not using any text for custome summary, So the issue comes up only when custom summaries are defined, if you move any column to the group by areas you will see this TOTAL_COST Total Cost: 10 in custom summaries example, my issue is it is including the column key and not using the header text like it does if you do not define a custom summary and drag a column into the group by area when it displays just the count. Hope this explains the issue a bit better, sorry for my poorly defined original post.
