Chart title

Hi,

It looks like there is a bug in the chart title top behavior. See this picture https://www.dropbox.com/s/8w1sto0myx0gxhc/ChartTitle.png

When in design more, the title displays correctly, in run-time it slides over the chart itself.

How can I set the chart title bounding box border color and the background color?

Hello Mitja,

Please find bellow answers to your questions:

Is there any way to customize the text and colors for the legend? – yes, you can. Please check the next two answers for more information;

Can I change that text without changing the series.Label? – you can set FromatString property of the legend. You can use some built-in label formatting or you can create your own by implementing IRenderLabel interface;

Can I set some custom colors? – if you need to set same custom color for all legend items you may set Font and FontColor of legend’s LabelStyle. If you need to set different colors for each label you will need to use again FillSceneGraph event. Find the labels you need and modify their LabeStyle one by one;

Is there a way to let it decide the best size for bounding box without me setting the Rectangle? – there is no such built-in mechanism in the legend. As a workaround you may try to measure the user string in run time. Then set the size of the legend accordingly.

In your sample it shows the Min, Max and Line values which comes from NumericSeries.Label value and Series.Label. Also the colors are predefined.

Can I change that text without changing the series.Label?Can I set some custom colors?

Is there a way to let it decide the best size for bounding box without me setting the Rectangle? The text will be given by user so I have no idea what would be the best size to fit it properly?

Hello Mitja,

To show legend in composite chart you need to add one to the Legends collection of your chart. More information about adding a legend to composite chart you may find in our online documentation here.

In the attached sample I have added a legend. Please check my sample and let me know if this is what you are looking for or if I am missing something.

Thank you, that seemed to work.

But it looks like the legend has some issues as well with composite chart. I can see it in Design mode, but at run-time is gone.

In your sample, just set chart.Legend.Visible = true in Properties window, then run the sample, legend is nowhere to be seen.

Can you please check.

Hello Mitja,

Yes, you are correct. When you are using composite chart the title overlaps the chart area. What you can do is set the chart area bounds Y to be greater than 0. Attached is a small sample showing how you can achieve this.

Regarding title border and background color there is no property or method of the chart allowing you to set these properties. What you can do is handle FillSceneGraph event and draw your own box primitive around the chart title. Check the attached sample where I have implemented this.
