What formats are directly supported?
I see pdf, xml, and excel in the online documentation. What about other formats like msword or csv files?
Also, in testing the xml export, I see it exports the grid structure as well and the result must be parsed to remove it. Is there anyway to set the export to data only?

The PDF and Excel exports are the only formats supported for exporting the data itself. The XML exporting is only intended to store the layout of the grid, not the data (unless you're talking about the XML logic of the PDF exporter, which goes through the Documents engine). In fact, the grid does not store any of the data that it displays, as that is the responsibility of the data source; if you want to export the data to CSV, you would have to parse it yourself.
