I'm looking for advice/direction/experience from anyone that has taken an existing WinForms app and styled it to look more modern. Our app was originally written in 2005 and functional enhancements have been added, but no upgrades to the UI. We did use AppStylist a couple years ago to provide a few different styles that our users could choose from, but the app overall still looks old.
Looking to upgrade so it looks more like current Office 365 apps. Is this a heavy lift since we already have Infragistics controls throughout?
Hello and thank you for contacting Infragistics. AppStylist is still our one stop shop for styling your application. We haven't added any theming, especially an Office 365 appearance settings to our components. That would be considered to be a new product idea.
You can suggest new product ideas for future versions (or vote for existing ones) at <www.infragistics.com/.../ideas>. Submitting your idea will allow you to communicate directly with our product management team, track the progress of your idea at any time, see how many votes it got, read comments from other developers in the community, and see if someone from the product team has additional questions for you. Remember when submitting your idea to explain the context in which a feature would be used and why it is needed as well as anything that would prevent you from accomplishing this today. You can even add screenshots to build a stronger case. Remember that for your suggestion to be successful, you need other members of the community to vote for it.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks Michael, I'll put that in as a suggestion.
I was really hoping there might be someone in the community that has been down this path and may possibly have some tips or experience they could share on how they accomplished it.
