Hallo,
Ich have a small problem: I don't know where I have to translate the "([count] items)". See here:
In the Infragistics Resource Strings, I have found the following.
LDR_Layout_mask: [caption] : [value] ([count] [count,items,item,items])
...and I translated it so:
LDR_Layout_mask: [caption] : [value] ([count] [count,Elemente,Element,Elemente])
But it doesn't work. Can anyone help me?
Thanks
Hi,
The resource string you are looking at is probably used by the designer for the dropdown list that appears on the GroupByRowDescriptionMask property on the grid's Override object. This string is not displayed to a user, so I'm a little unclear on why you would need to localize it. I don't think this is possible.
I want to localize it, because "items" is english and I develop english/german applications. Is there really no possibility?
The strings exposed by the ResourceCustomizer are the ones that the user can see and that are not available through public properties. It would not make sense for Infragistics to attempt to localize these, since they are settable by the developer, already. :)

I'm not sure. My guess is that it's just a question of resources. After all, not every developer needs the strings translating ito every possible language. Perhaps you should Submit a feature request to Infragistics
Yes,
It's exactly that I was looking for. Thank's
I thought, that all strings displayed in the ui are localized in any resources. The fact, that a view strings are stored in propertys makes my work a bit harder.
Only a question: Why don't translate infragistics the strings? Everey developer, who use infragistics and speaks an other language has to translate the resources him self.

Yes, but only developers will ever see this string. A user will never see it.
I think I see what you are trying to do though. The resource string you are looking at is a string that is displayed in the grid DESIGNER. It has nothing to do with what the user sees at run-time. If you are trying to change the actual text of the GroupByRow, then you need to set the GroupByRowDescriptionMask property. You don't need a localization string for this, because it's already a public property in the grid's object model. What you will need to do is check System.Globalization.CurrentCulture and set the GroupByRowDescriptionMask based on that. Or, you could localize the form and set the property in each language.
