Hi,
I'm a graphic designer, and was told here at work to create new Style Libraries with AppStylist for Windows Forms.
The issue I'm having is that after a style is completed, and I'm trying to uplod it into our application (build with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008) it freezes.
In the past I was able to upload all my new skins now problem, but lately I'm have this consistent problem.
Any insight will be greately apprecciated.
ThanksFausto
P.S. A few weeks ago I upgraded to NetAdvantage Appstylist 8.3 (from previously 8.2), the problem become more frequent since then.
I'm not sure by what you mean when you say that you're uploading the style; is this Windows Forms or Web? I'm not aware of any issues that would cause the application to freeze. I also don't think that any changes were made to the AppStyling framework with the release of 8.3. Can you provide a sample that illustrates the problem?

Thank you for the prompt response.
I'm using AppStylist for Windows Forms.
The following is the process we use to test new skins, hopefully will explain better our recurring problem:
1) I create new skins using AppStylist for Windows Forms
2) The new skins ( .isl ) are given to the developers to add to their code (Developers use Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 to build their code)
3) After the developers add the skin, we test it to see if displays properly in our application (we are building our own custom application)
4) At this point, 90% of the time we try to test a new skin, our custom application freeze...and we need to force quit..
My question is, why this is happening most of the time, is something in the code that we should add to prevent the problem, we are running out of ideas...
Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.
Regards Fausto
I don't know of any times where this has ever occurred, so I really don't know what could be causing the issue. Perhaps there are exceptions being generated, so you/developer might want to set the IDE to break on all exceptions (Debug -> Exceptions -> Common Language Runtime Exceptions (Thrown)). If there is any code in your application that is executed when any of the appearances or ViewStyles change? Beyond this, I'm not sure what the problem could be and you should contact Developer Support with a small sample so that they can look into the matter.
Thank you Matt.
What I did is to contact Infragystics support, they provided a "sample project" to test and trying to duplicated the problem.
I forwarded such test to my Developers and they discovered that some of the issues were problems specific to our environment and in the code of the application.
It worked after that.
Sorry if I can't be more specific, as I'm not a Developer, but definetely support put us on the right road to fix this issue.
Best of luckFausto
I'm having exactly the same issue, except that styles that were working are now causing the application to lock up. Did you ever discover what was causing this?
